Jima's story.

You may wonder who or what Jima is.

Well, in February of 2002, a 3 month old Husky arrived at our house. He was intended to be a gift to a young marine and hence his name (Jima like in Iwo Jima). The young marine was unable to take Jima and the dog became a permanent resident at our house.

Although Jima was not necessarily a welcome guest, he endeared himself to us by making lots of messes, incurring lots of vet bills and destroying (chewing) lots of things (like the anti-lock brake sensor cables on our Honda Pilot not once but 3 times).

In the end, Jima won us all over and is now a beloved member of the family. We are always amused at his antics and can't wait to see what he will do next.

For no particular reason I decided to put a picture of him on the website and then realized that the letters of his name could stand for "Jesus Is My Advocate". Therefore he is now the site mascot. (Click here for more photos of Jima)

1 John 2:1-2
1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.
